Lunch Break View #5

Trees reflected
On the lake
Nature's charm
One's breath does take.

Perfect stillness
Not a sound
Water mirror's
World around.

Lunch Break View #4

Shrinking back into the distance
Lined in perfect row
Fourteen trees are poised to fall
Like waiting domino

Barely budding
Wake from slumber
After winter's sleep

Stretching limbs up to the heavens
Pushing roots down deep

Lunch Break View #3

Twisted form of pale stone
From someone's vision made.

Carved away
With careful touch
Standing there displayed.

Stop and stare,
Pause to think,
But beauty's in the eye.

Touch the Soul,
Spark the mind,
Of every passerby.

Lunch Break View #2

Vibrant violet
Delicate as a feather
Tiny, little blossoms
Cling through stormy weather.

With scaly, spotted trunk
A looming shadow's cast
Standing tall for ages
All of history past.

Lunch Break View #1

Sitting back & staring
At blades of bright green grass.

Clouds of insects spinning
How quickly time does pass.

Scattered trees cast speckled shade
Rays of light shine through.

Distant skies dotted white
disrupting azure hue.

It starts.

Hello and Welcome.

Lunch Break Views is a new, little project of mine
created out of the need to vacate my desk and detach from the office for an hour.

An alternative to endlessly wandering the local mall, I have discovered that the beautiful scenery surrounding my office building lends itself to great poetry.

Each day I will spend my lunch capturing the essence of nature with pad and pen.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy some original poems courtesy of one crazed office worker.
